the Book of First Thessalonians

in light of Christ's return. In this first letter to the
Thessalonians, Paul commends them for their faith and
reminds them of his motives and concerns on their
behalf. He encourages them to excel in their new-found
faith, to increase in their love for one another and to
rejoice, pray and give thanks always. He closes his
letter with instruction regarding the return of the
Lord, whose advent signifies hope and comfort for
believers both living and dead. This letter was written
in approximately A.D. 51 while Paul was in Corinth. This
